Sevilla, Spain - I Love You!

We (Bob and I share the driving..I love to drive...and I'm thrilled to be the one who gets to drive into the city), drove to Sevilla today. It took us a while to find our hotel. It's a pedestrian only - no cars hotel. But we didn't realize that's what it was until we got here. With the slight language barrier (Kathy and Cal speak Spanish very well, Bob and I not so well), ignorance of the city streets, and Ronda, that's what we named our female voice in the GPS who kept telling us to, "turn right, now, turn right, turn right now, recalculating, turn right now, we had a very hard time. Eventually, at the suggestion of the hotel, we hired a cab...not to drive us there, but so that we could follow it to the parking garage nearby. It was a very funny experience that I will cherish forever!
Kathy hanging out of the cab as we followed it to our location.
Oh, Mike...I found another souvenir I just had to have for the house. Make room and expect FedEx again soon.

We love our hotel and the location is perfect!!!
We check in then head for the museums that are still open.
At last I have one of those small European balconies with the french doors!
First stop the Cathedral.

It's magnificent, but closed, so we walk to the
Reales Alcazares de Sevilla.
This is the royal palace, which like so many royal structures in Spain, was originally a Moorish (Islamic) palace. It has been added to by subsequent monarchs over the centuries. The upper levels are still used by the present royal family. This photo is of the facade.
Dome of the Embassadors Hall
This may the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!
The Islamic art and architecture is truly spectacular!
The detail miraculous and unbelievable.
